CPVC Policies

Appointment Policy

To allow ample time for all patients and scheduled surgical procedures, we operate primarily by appointment. Emergency cases shall always receive top priority, which is why occasional appointment delay is inevitable. Please realize that we make a sincere attempt to see each client on time.

Appointment changes or cancellations must be received 48 hours in advance of the scheduled appointment.

New clients must submit registration paperwork and their pet’s prior medical records at least 48 hours prior to their scheduled appointment, or their appointment will need to be cancelled or rescheduled.

Patient Restraint and Containment Policy

For the protection of all our clients and patients, all patients must be on a leash (less than 6 feet long) or in an appropriate secure pet carrier and properly controlled at all times on our property and inside our facility. Many pets are either excited or nervous about being at the vet’s office, and may be uneasy around new people, new surroundings, and other pets. Do not allow your pet to approach another client or patient either outside or inside of our clinic, as even the sweetest pets can be defensive when stressed.

Patient Low Stress Policy

Our veterinarians feel strongly that our patient’s stress should be minimized whenever possible. We do our best to handle patients safely and in ways that minimize their stress, but some pets still will be stressed when they come in. Mild stress can be normal in the clinic environment. But if your pet is significantly stressed or becomes distressed during their visit, the veterinarian may recommend that you reschedule your pet to come back with anti-anxiety medications administered prior to that visit. We want our patients to be as comfortable as possible during their examination and treatments!

Pre-Appointment Medication: If you know that your pet becomes very upset or anxious about coming to the clinic, we may be able to prescribe pre-visit medication to reduce their stress. Just ask a veterinary care team member when you make your appointment if you think your pet may benefit from pre-appointment medication.

For hospitalized patients, the veterinarians reserve the right to treat patient stress with medications as deemed appropriate.

Hospitalization Policy

For the safety of our patients and our employees, we require that all pets be up to date on required vaccinations in order to be hospitalized at Central Park Veterinary Clinic. For dogs, we require the following vaccinations: DHPP, Rabies and Bordetella. For cats, FVRCP and Rabies vaccinations are required. Exceptions may be made for urgent care or emergency cases, at the discretion of the veterinarian, but an isolation fee may be charged for pets not up to date on the required vaccinations.

Central Park Veterinary Clinic is staffed by our amazing team during our business hours. However, after hours, CPVC does not maintain staffing for patient care. This affects the ability to hospitalize unstable medical and surgical patients at our facility. CPVC does offer overnight and weekend hospitalization of stable patients with informed consent of the pet owner when appropriate. Our veterinarians will discuss the risks vs the benefits of overnight/weekend hospitalization, and may recommend transfer to a veterinary facility with 24 hour staffing for your pet's medical care and safety.

Payment Policy

We require full payment at the time that services are rendered. For your convenience, we accept cash, checksVisa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, Care Credit and Scratchpay.
We also offer Pet Health Savings Accounts (pHSA). pHSA's allow clients to budget their pets' expected medical costs more easily, and/or to build a financial safety net in case of emergency.
